Speak to Kit is an AI hiring system built for quality of hire. The hiring manager says what a top performer delivers in their first 12 months, Kit speaks to every applicant about the way they work, and the hiring team sees who to meet, and why. How Kit works, step by step.
What LinkedIn Recruiter is for
LinkedIn describes Recruiter as a way to "Reach candidates directly on LinkedIn with Recruiter's built-in messaging". A recruiter searches profiles, saves people to projects and writes to them.
It is bought per recruiter. The UK government's Digital Marketplace lists LinkedIn Recruiter at $12,000 a licence a year. Speak to Kit is bought per agent: £250 + VAT a month per agent month to month, or £200 + VAT a month on an annual plan. One agent speaks to everyone who applies to, or is sent to, the roles it works on.

Finding someone is only half of it
LinkedIn's own figure, reported in 2025, was about 11,000 applications a minute in June 2025, up more than 45% on a year earlier. More people can be found and more people apply. Knowing which of them will do the job well has not got easier.
A profile shows titles, employers and years. The research says years tell you little. Van Iddekinge and colleagues reviewed 81 samples in 2019: years of experience barely relate to how well someone performs, at .06, and not at all to whether they stay. University grades do only a little better, at .21.
“I've probably trained somewhere between 700 and 1,000 recruiters in my career and managed them all during that process... I don't recall ever seeing that the person who came top of my Boolean search or AI search or LinkedIn search got the job. In my life, ever.”
When the people you found speak to Kit
Your recruiter does the outreach on LinkedIn as today, and adds Kit's link to the message. The person speaks to Kit when it suits them, by phone or in writing. 276 in every 1,000 Kit calls start between 7pm and 7am, and 361 in every 1,000 fall outside working hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm), weekends included.
Kit holds a headhunted person to the same standard as someone who applied: what the hiring manager said a top performer delivers in the first 12 months. Every source is assessed the same way, so the recruiter can see which searches bring the strongest people.
Why the conversation matters for senior moves
Groysberg, Lee and Nanda followed 1,052 top-ranked US equity analysts who moved firm. Their performance dropped straight away and stayed lower for at least five years, unless they moved with their team. Who someone was somewhere else does not carry over by itself.
Kit's conversation asks how the person got their results and what the new team needs, so the hiring manager sees both before an interview is booked.
“Inbound chaos became inbound calm! A couple of hours later, a 90% match candidate was in my inbox.”
A recruiter's day with both
Kit does not send LinkedIn messages and does not log in to LinkedIn. The recruiter keeps the relationship with every person they found. Someone who would rather not speak to an AI can still apply in the normal way.
Referrals bring a similar benefit. Burks, Cowgill, Hoffman and Housman studied nine large firms in 2015 and found people referred by staff quit less. A referral or a headhunted person gets the same conversation as anyone else, so the team can compare them fairly.
- Morning: the recruiter runs searches in LinkedIn Recruiter and writes to the people who look right.
- Each message includes Kit's link, with a line on what the call covers and how long it takes.
- Evening and weekend: the people who are interested speak to Kit when they are free.
- Next morning: the recruiter sees who matched the hiring manager's standard, and why, and calls them first.
What it is worth
A Recruiter search finds people with the right skills and experience. In a Leadership IQ study of more than 20,000 hires, only 11 in 100 of the hires that failed were down to skills. 89 in 100 were down to attitude: being coachable, motivated, and suited to the way the team works. A profile can't show that. A conversation can, and each failed hire avoided saves about £51,000 on an £80,000 salary. For example, an accountancy training provider hiring about 130 people a year has about 21 first-year leavers, costing about £575,000 a year. Halving that would be worth about £288,000 a year (estimate).
